Thoughts from Our Community

Below are a collection of comments from valued members of the Bellevue community about the need to protect Bellevue's significant trees.

My heart is deeply connected to nature – and trees are such a substantial part of that. As a native to this community and state – I take pride that our city has had a TREE as their City Logo. But that is becoming almost a joke now with the weekly removal of trees in our neighborhoods.

Jane G., Lake Hills

I’m a long-time resident of Bellevue and have noticed an increase in development with little regard for the removal of significant trees. This must be stopped before we lose our important mature tree canopy.

Rick C., Lake Hills

I've always loved trees kind of instinctively. I grew up in Southern California and in my 20s when I moved to Washington, I knew this is where I belonged. This destruction of trees has broken my heart. The benefits of trees is ongoing and the loss is so sad to me.

Jane B,, Robinswood.

My grandmother and my great uncle were part of the group of families that donated the Weowna land to Bellevue as an undisturbed resource in perpetuity but wildlife cannot be expected to be contained in more and more disconnected blocks.

Kate S., Robinswood
